In 2285, Morrow served as Starfleet's Chief of Command. After James Kirk defeated Khan and returned the U.S.S. Enterprise to spacedock, Morrow wanted to decommission the vessel. Morrow also blocked Kirk's hopes of revisiting the Genesis Planet.
