How do I use a different Web browser with AOL?

If you use America Online (AOL) to connect to the Internet, you have the option to use another Web browser to improve your Web-surfing experience. You will find that certain functions (like multimedia presentations and membership/contest entry on our site) work better with other browsers.

Two recommended alternative browsers are Internet Explorer (for Windows) and Safari (for Macintosh).

  1. You may find the blue "e" logo for Internet Explorer on your computer already.
  2. Make sure you have the latest version of the browser installed.
  3. Open AOL and sign in to connect to the Internet.
  4. Minimize or hide AOL, but do not sign off.
  5. Open your browser.

As long as your AOL connection remains open, you should now be able to visit any Web site (including STARTREK.COM) using this alternative browser.
