We're proud to bring you Special Event Chats with celebrities from the Star Trek universe. Before you enter a chat, there are a few things you need to know.

Joining an Event Chat

When you click a CHAT NOW link, you'll see a small pop-up window. Type a Nickname for yourself and click the "Connect" button; the Auditorium chat window will be displayed.

The Auditorium

When you're in the Auditorium, you can watch the chat and send a question to the Moderator. You cannot chat with other fans while in the Auditorium.

To submit a question, just type it in the field below the chat and click the "SEND MESSAGE" button. Your question will be reviewed by a Moderator; it will NOT be sent directly into the Auditorium. We try to select as many of the best questions as we can in the time we have with our special guests. However, we often get thousands of questions during a chat, so don't be disappointed if yours does not get selected.

While you are in the Auditorium, you will not be able to chat with the others in that room.

Chatting with Other Fans

If you want to chat with a room full of people at the same time, you need to enter one of the Lounges. Click the "ROOMS" tab above the list of names. You'll see a list of Lounge rooms and the number of people in each. Click a Lounge name and click the "ENTER" button at the top of the list, and you will enter that Lounge. You can freely converse with everyone in the room. The Event Chat will be broadcast into that room by a "robot" user named "Auditorium". You can make the Event Chat stand out by clicking the "Auditorium" user and clicking the "FLAG" icon (the third one).

Asking Questions in the Lounge

If you want to submit a question while you're in the Lounge, send your question as a Private Message to the user named Auditorium. Your question will be reviewed by a Moderator; it will NOT be sent directly into the Auditorium.

Private Messages

If you want to converse with an individual, you can send a Private Message. Just click on the person's name in the list, then click the "balloon" icon (the middle one) above the list of names. If someone sends you a Private Message, it will appear in the chat window. Just click on that message and a new Private Message window will open for your conversation.

Proper Behavior

Be sure you understand our Terms of Use before you participate in a chat. If your behavior is in violation of our Terms of Use, a Monitor may warn you or even kick you from the room.
