The wireless revolution is finally catching up to Star Trek. With cell phones and PDAs reminiscent of Star Trek's communicators and PADDs, the only thing missing from our modern technology has been great Star Trek games to play on the go.

All that's changing, as fans will soon be able to play Star Trek games on their wireless devices. The Australian wireless company Jumbuck Entertainment announced a deal with Viacom Consumer Products (VCP) to develop and distribute wireless Star Trek games. Jubuck will develop a trio of Star Trek games, based on the Original Series and becoming available as soon as later this year.

"All of the Jumbuck staff are huge followers of Star Trek and the show has legions of fans around the world," said Jumbuck CEO Adrian Risch. "We will produce a number of action- packed mobile games based around Star Trek, the original series, that will appeal to this market and those that are just looking for a great game to play."

The Star Trek games will feature exciting color and graphic effects, using familiar TOS characters on supporting mobile handsets. Jumbuck delivers services to over 30 carrier customers globally, offering Wireless Chat, Speed Flirts, and high profile Java and Brew Mobile Games, including "Shaft," "Black Rain" and "Ryan Giggs Soccer."
