What is your character, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed, like? I know that they saw a certain amount of me in what they imagined Reed to be. My fear was that they wanted the quintessential English guy in an American science fiction TV show. Although I was very happy to play the part, I hoped that I wasn't going to be just an English head popping up and going "Oh, my dear old mum.? So at the moment he is slightly shy, he is slightly buttoned down, he is British, and he is a gun man. He is the munitions officer. I'm serving a somewhat functional part at the moment, because I know that the main thrust at the moment is definitely with Jonathan Archer, T'Pol, the Vulcan Science Officer, and Trip the engineer. So there's plenty of time to discover the nooks and crannies of Lieutenant Commander Reed.
How is Enterprise going to be different from other Star Trek shows?
I know that Rick Berman said that there would be ? I don't want to say more sex, but as I say again, it's more accent on us being humans than us being humans looking at aliens. I'm sure there will be episodes where the aliens are the stars of the show, but I think that our cast and the ship will be the stars of the show, rather than which aliens are we going to meet this week.
