Jeri Ryan portrays Seven of Nine, a human who was assimilated by the Borg as a young girl. When Captain Janeway severs Seven of Nine's link to the Borg collective, she is forced to remain on the starship Voyager and adapt to human society. On board the U.S.S. Voyager, she must try to conform to Starfleet rules and regulations. "Seven of Nine is confused by the complexities of human interaction" Ryan explains. "Torn between her past as a Borg and her future as a human, Janeway plays an integral role in helping Seven of Nine adapt to her new reality."
Question: I have read that you are in Chicago on weekends... will you make an appearance at the Viacom store.... :-)
moosedata
JR: Yeah, I would love to.
Q: Hello, I was wondering how you like working on Voyager and what it was like to join an already established cast?
(love ya on the show, btw :-))
Diana
JR: Thank you! I love it. It's a great group of people to work with. It's a terrific job and the character is loads of fun to play. I'm really lucky.
Q: Saw you on the "Keenen" show last night - you were great! How does it feel to be riding the "Star Trek" publicity wave?
Where else should we look for your appearances?
BorgGalFan
JR: It's very surreal. Most everything I've experienced with this phenomenon has been surreal...
When you see yourself on magazine covers and so forth it's... odd. I'm in Entertainment Weekly this week. KTLA tomorrow morning on the morning news and the cover of the Canadian TV Guide.
Q: So is it going to be a running gag in the show that every time poor Ensign Kim tries to get to know Seven of Nine better through small talk she wipes the floor with him?
brian
JR: Actually, no, that's just the dynamic between Garrett and myself. (Laughs.) :-)
Q: What is the impact been on your life after becoming a Star Trek character?
eggy35
JR: I've only seen the tip of the iceberg so far... only two episodes have aired...
This is my first experience talking to the fans, as I've said before. So far, so good!
Q: What is the toughest aspect of working on Voyager?
Locutus
JR: Trying to get through a scene with a straight face. This whole cast is either going to become standup comics...
or they're going to make a Star Trek asylum and commit us all!
Q: Did you see "First Contact" and did you model your portrayal after the Borg Queen?
JLPisNo1
JR: I saw it the day before I was supposed to test. Rick Berman gave me a copy so I'd have some clue as to who the Borg were.
But no, the character of the Borg Queen -- I was told specifically -- was a completely different animal and we were creating something entirely new.
Q: How uncomfortable are those costumes?
Anika7of9
JR: Comfort is a relative term. The Borg costume was not the most pleasant wardrobe experience of my life but each new permutation of the costume gets more comfortable.
Q: Do you have an Official Fan Club address people can write or e-mail to?
Borg Queen
JR: No, not so far.
Q: What is a "typical" work day on the set of Star Trek: Voyager like?
Sarge the Dog
JR: Come in the morning, go to the hair trailer, have my hair set looking glamorous in my rollers, I walk to the make-up trailer and get the make-up and prosthetics put on. Then it's back to the hair trailer to finish the 'do' and then Jamie, who dresses me, meets me in my trailer to begin the somewhat lengthy process of getting dressed. :-)
Q: I'm curious if you are a Trek fan by nature, or simply an actor doing a job? Either way, I see a lot of potential for your character... glad to have you on the show! :-)
Anthony
JR: I've never been a Sci Fi fan, per se. What I've seen of Star Trek has been great, it's very entertaining, great action and intelligently written...
Q: How long are you committed to Voyager? Can Canadians expect to see you at any trek trade shows?
Brian
JR: I've committed for three years. I don't have any Canadian conventions coming up, though I may be doing one in Florida at the beginning of November.
Q: What is it like switching from a show like Dark Skies to a show like Voyager?
Jeremy
JR: The most interesting change has been my mindset, character-wise...
On Dark Skies I was fighting the alien hive, the collective, and now I'm a member!
Q: Jeri, how many others where up for the role of 'Seven of Nine'? How did you win the part?
Holly
JR: I have no idea how many other women were up for it... I suspect it was a large number. Everybody I met after I got the job said, "Oh! You're the new Borg chick!" They'd either auditioned themselves or knew someone who had.
Q: How do you like working with the cast and crew of Star Trek? Plan to be there long?
Timakaal
JR: It's a great group of people. These guys are so much fun, we don't get a whole lot accomplished. (We laugh a little too much.)
Q: Jeri: Can't wait to see you in the show Down Under. My question is Will there be obvious friction or clashing of personalities between you and Captain Janeway?
Roo
JR: Yes, absolutely! Seven and Janeway start out very much at odds.
Q: Jeri, I remember that you where in the TV movie "In the Line of Duty: Ambush in Waco" along with Tim Daly. But I also remember you in another TV move along with Tori Spelling (of 90210 fame). What was the name of that film, and could you tell us about the route that your career took from that film, to your current position on "Star Trek: Voyager"?
Shane
JR: Arrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!
It was called "Co-ed Call Girl." I did a couple of episodes on "Melrose Place" and a couple of other guest starring things that I don't remember right now, and then I got "Dark Skies." When that was canceled, I had about a month of down time, and then I got "Star Trek: Voyager."
Q: How do you feel being a sex symbol?
8_of_9
JR: (Love the name...) So far, so good!
Q: Hi Jeri, My name is Andrew and my question is: When is your birthday?
Andrew
JR: Hi Andrew! It's February 22nd.
Q: The 2 scenes when you were in the brig telling the Capt. that you were being forced to become human were very emotional and strong. What a performance!!
Dennis
JR: Thank you very much. I appreciate it, those were my favorite scenes that we've done to date.
Q: How did you get started acting? What was your first break in show business?
Actor2B
JR: I started acting professionally after I graduated from college... I did some commercials senior year and then got my first guest-starring role in a series on "Who's the Boss?" a couple of months after I moved to Los Angeles.
Q: What was the audition process like for this part? When did you first hear about it?
Wannabe
JR: I think it was in May when I first heard about it, but I don't recall specifically. The audition was actually very typical and not particularly grueling. I read for the producers twice, went in and talked with the three executive producers; Jeri Taylor, Rick Berman and Brannon Braga. Then I tested for the network.
Q: Jeri: With you portraying Seven of Nine, assimilation could become quite popular and sexy!!!
brian
JR: LOL - Thanks! :-)
Q: Will you get a human name? Or will your Voyager pals just call you "Seven" for short?
ThreeOfFive
JR: I do have a human name, it was mentioned in "The Gift" -- Annika Hansen. But yes, the crew will call me Seven.
Q: Congratulations on getting such a great role with so much potential. Do you have any fears of this role becoming so popular that it prevents you from getting other roles, or that you will ALWAYS be identified with this character?
Ben
JR: Thanks a lot. And yes, that was definitely foremost on my mind when I decided to take the job.
Usually when you sign on for a TV series, you sign a standard five or six year contract without a second thought, because the chances of it going beyond even one season are incredibly remote...
But with Star Trek, the show is not going anywhere... So if you sign on, you're there! Because the fan base is so passionate, I was a little concerned about getting typecast, and sort of stuck in the 'alien babe' mode.
But, hindsight being 20-20, I think it's the best career move I could have made.
Q: Does it bother you that your character has often been blatantly sold as a sex image to attract the male demographic? By the way, you're doing an excellent job in the part. You're a wonderful actress!
Audra
JR: I don't know how much of it was specifically to sell to the male demographic... personally I have no problem with the way the character is presented physically as long as she continues to be intelligently written and a challenge to play as an actor. I think that it's great to see an overtly sexy female portrayed in a strong, smart way, rather than as a bimbo or a victim.
Q: You were great in Dark Skies. Too bad it was canceled. I saw you in one episode speak Russian. Do you actually speak it?
David
JR: Well, I did... for two episodes. :-)
No, they hired a linguist to come in and teach me the specific lines.
Q: For someone who would like to be as successful as you, what would you recommend? You're great and Very Pretty, Ted.
Ted
JR: Thanks for the compliment, Ted. Just brace yourself for the fact that it's a lot of hard work, and a lot of rejection.
-- That's the first thing. I also think good training is very important.
Q: It's gotta take a lot of self-confidence to start as a repulsive character. Were you put-off by the makeup?
Tim
JR: LOL!
(Jeri is laughing in mock horror at the use of the word "repulsive.")
JR: "Put-off" is a good term for it, but it's fun! That's part of the fun of being an actor -- playing completely different roles and playing dress-up.
Although when I play dress-up, I tend to make it a little more comfortable. :-)
Q: Were you ever a model?
Zork
JR: Briefly, for about a year, from my senior year in college until I started getting auditions regularly.
Q: How tall are you?
Gleknar
JR: 5'8"
Q: It looks like you got rid of most of your Borg "make-up" after the first show. Is it a relief not to have to wear all of that?
WLG
JR: Actually, it was the second episode, but who's counting?
:-)
Q: WE LOVE YOU JERI!! Come back to the Collective! :-)
Borg Queen
JR: LOL! You never know...
Q: Jeri: it seems that 7 of 9 is yet another Star Trek "learning to be human" character (a la Spock, Data, Odo, etc.). How will her exploration be different?
Gleknar
JR: Because she *was* human at one time. This is rediscovery, not purely as an outsider.
Q: Jeri Lynn: You have come a long way since your days as Lucy to my Linus in Lone Oak. You began as a class act and have remained one. Voyager should be lucky to have your abilities. Keep up the excellent work. I had not watched Voyager previously but know I am a fan.
darby
JR: Darby!!!!!!!!! Thanks honey! :-)
Q: Your first two episodes were great, Jeri, especially your confrontations with Janeway. Have the producers given you any general roadmap to your character's future relationships with the different Voyager cast members?
FLAtRich
JR: First of all, thanks. The character is so new... that's the part that we're still exploring. I know they're trying to pair Seven with each character to see what the dynamics are and will be.
Without giving away too much... just keep watching. :-)
Q: How does your son react when he sees you on TV?
Tim
JR: He just turned three so he's old enough now to sort of 'get' what a TV show is...
... and that it's Mommy's work and he loves it. It's a little easier when I'm in the room with him. He has a lot of fun and he's a big fan of the Borg make-up, by the way.
Q: Do you have any outside projects you are working on?
Silversurfer
JR: I'm finishing up the reshoots on an independent feature that I shot last summer called "The Last Man." Other than that, Star Trek's a full-time job.
Q: What is you ultimate goal? Do you want to be an actor, (stage or screen) or do you want direct/write/produce or none of the above?
Tigger
JR: Lord, I have no illusions... I know where my talents lie and it's NOT directing. :-)
Q: How far would you like to go with this character? Do you see yourself doing a movie with the crew if the cast of ST: VOY gets offered a script?
Christopher
JR: Of course, I would love to. I'm around as long as the character is as interesting as she is now and as long as it continues to be fun.
Q: What do you want to see happen to your character as far as her becoming more human and socializing more with the crew? :0)
Crystalline_Entity
JR: Thanks. I definitely want to see an evolution, but I just don't want to lose all the conflict too early on. I think that's a lot of what makes the character interesting to watch.
Q: Are you a "net surfer" ?
Rick
JR: Unfortunately, I'm computer illiterate. But I have to admit, I do from time to time check out the web page and the message boards...
Q: How old are you?
Vince
JR: Twenty-nine.
Q: Night or morning person?
V_Pandey
JR: Night! So the 4:30 AM calls get a little brutal.
Q: Certainly it's not a bad thing to be as beautiful as you are, but do you worry about being too good looking to play a Borg?
I mean c'mon even in the picture of you as a Borg in make up we can tell you're a stunning babe, hardly the zombie look of the Borg. Think make up can gore you up a bit?
didjeridu
JR: Have you SEEN me in the morning? -- Obviously not, but thanks.
Q: Dear ma'am, Of all the work you have done - both movies and TV-series - What do you personally think is the best?? (I liked you very much in "Victim of Beauty" - and I am looking forward to the New Star Trek: Voyager Season to come to Europe.)
Sincerely, Kim Beck, Denmark.
JR: Well, unfortunately nobody's seen it yet because it WON'T END!!! -- But I think my character in "The Last Man" was my best role. I played the last woman on Earth
Q: Dear Jeri, your portrayal of 7 of 9 is not only dramatically superb but intensely compelling and interesting to witness. How did you prepare for this role and at any time were you worried about not being accepted by the hard-core Trek fans? (As if there ever was a doubt) :-) Very much looking forward to seeing your character continue to develop,
Ken
JR: How much do I owe you, Ken? Your check's in the mail! :-)
The character I auditioned for was Seven as she is now, in episode 11 that we're shooting... so that preparation was a lot different than the preparation for the first couple of episodes.
Which was basically PANIC! I knew that the character started out Borg, but all that I had seen was the Borg Queen, who spoke, and whom I was told to completely disregard... and the drones, who didn't speak, whom I was told to completely disregard.
So when the first script came out, and I realized that I actually had to speak and act as a Borg... "panic" is a mild term.
Q: What do you feel is the biggest challenge in becoming a new full time character in an established show?
Nick
JR: It could have been a very awkward situation, coming into a show that had been around for so long, but the cast, crew and producers were all incredibly warm and really bent over backwards to make me feel like part of the family.
Q: Hello Jeri, I've been a long time fan and have been keeping up with your work. I really don't have any questions... just wanted to say hi...we were in Market House Theatre together and I am thrilled to see you have made it this far...lots of luck and congrats
GRoberts
JR: Hi!! Please tell me your first name and what we worked on!
Q: Seven seems to be a very strong, blunt person, yet has an underlying fragility and fear of being human. Is it difficult to play such a textured character?
Teri
JR: Yeah, but that's the fun part of it... the challenge.
Q: There have been many rumors about Seven of Nine's romantic interests on the show. Can you clarify what this, if any, might be??
Borg Queen
JR: Well, I would love to but I honestly have not a clue.
Q: Jeri, first of all I'm a big fan....but I really have a request of you.....we have a group of people who meet in the Starfleet Lounge every night and I was just wondering if you could say hi to them all?
Locutus
JR: Hey, Starfleet Lounge Lizards! How's it goin'?
Q: Speaking of Dark Skies, was there (will there be) a "final" episode?
Joe
JR: I would love to answer that one, too. I keep hearing rumors about a possible two-hour movie or series of movies, but I really don't know.
Q: Is there somewhere that a fan can write to in order to get an autographed photo of you? By the way... you're terrific! :-) Excellent job portraying Seven of Nine!!
Matt
(Paramount Pictures, 5555 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, California 90038-3197)
That address applies to any Paramount show. Write the actor's name, care of the series title, at Paramount Pictures.
JR: And thanks for the compliment!
Q: Jeri, ::down on one knee:: Will you marry me?
Matt
JR: I would love to but I think my husband would frown on it. You're so sweet!
Q: Hey I love you, you're a great asset to Voyager. Can you pleeease say hi to Robert Beltran for me???
Ellen
JR: No, I hate him, I don't speak to him. :-) ( -- Just kidding!)
Of course I will. And thanks.
Q: And can you help the doctor with his hair (since he helped seven of nine with hers)?
J Fecht
JR: In episode 14 I'll be administering some Borg Rogaine that I brought on board with me.
Q: Can you describe yourself? Are you an outdoor type person? What are your hobbies?
Ronda
JR: If you saw the Keenan interview last night, you'd know, I love food! My spare time is spent with my family, so there's not a lot of room for hobbies.
Q: What college did you attend and what did you major in?
Shannon
JR: Northwestern University and I was a Theater major. And yes, I wept at the Rose Bowl two years ago.
Q: What is Kate Mulgrew really like off the set?
Matt
JR: Kate's great! She's hysterically funny and very warm.
Q: Did you have any creative input on the role 7/9 would play? Also, do you ever worry about your good looks covering up the fact that you are an excellent actress?
Ken
JR: Yeah, right around the time the main topic of conversation (on the Internet) became by bust size...
Q: Do you think it will be difficult to maintain the emotional intensity that 7/9 has established in her first episodes?
Tim
JR: Yes, absolutely. But that's part of the fun of being an actor... the challenge. Of course, it's going to vary from episode to episode. It's not always going to be hugely emotional.
Q: Will you be wearing a Starfleet uniform or the silver outfit?
Brian
JR: I wear the silver outfit for the first few episodes. I'm not Starfleet so I'm not in a Starfleet uniform.
Q: Do you believe in extra-terrestrial life?
Trekgirl
JR: I don't know. I'm open-minded. I know Klingons and Borg are real, but I'm not sure about the rest of it. :-)
Q: How would I approach Seven of Nine for a date?
Matt
JR: Very carefully.
Q: Were you one of the top students when you were in high school?
Smasher_101
JR: I was eighth in my high school class. Seven, Nine, Eight... coincidence? I don't think so. :-)
Q: So who had the toughest early morning make-up call : you, Roxann Biggs-Dawson, or Robert Beltran?
Brian
JR: Ethan Phillips has by far the toughest make-up calls. And you never hear a complaint out of him.
Q: Hello Jeri and welcome to the wonderful world of Star Trek: Did anyone warn you about what you were getting yourself into re: the fandom of Trek? Have you done any conventions yet if so what did you think?
RnTrekker
JR: Rick Berman, the day before I was testing for the network, said that I was getting on a freight train and I had no idea how fast it was moving.
And he was right.
Q: Will we be seeing a 7 of 9 playmates toy soon?
Martian
JR: I really don't know. I suspect there will be some sort of action figure lurking in the wings somewhere.
Q: I am not sure how these questions are being asked but I just have to say Voyager and you are the best Star Trek has ever been!
josh
JR: Thanks, Josh!
Q: Do you watch your own shows?
Spock
JR: That's a skill I've only just recently acquired. :-) I get really neurotic when I see myself... I'm hyper-critical.
Q: Do you have a favorite music or music group?
DragonBreath
JR: I like all kinds of music. I love REM, Cat Stevens... pretty much everything but rap.
Q: Yes that is my name! How have you been handling the success?
Dan D. Lion
JR: And I like that name. It's gone straight to my head. :-) It's a lot of fun, It's not like I get mobbed in the grocery store -- yet. It's still pretty new and when I do get recognized, it's flattering.
Q: How many episodes have been filmed already for this season? What is the filming timeline?
J. Evans
JR: We're working on number eleven right now. We've been shooting since the end of May. It's a seven or eight day shoot, per episode, and there are 26 in a season.
Q: Because of you, I am obsessed with the Borg. now I have to watch every episode of voyager. I don't know what to do. :-)
neyungymmot
JR: LOL! And thanks. Obsess away!
Q: I heard you had to be given oxygen while shooting. Is this true? Are you OK?
Concerned
JR: I have to clear something up about this...
I've read some interviews that I've given and the way this story has been quoted frequently makes it sound like the producers were standing there with whips saying "Now you get in that costume and you suffer!" Which of course is not the case. Yes, I was given oxygen. And yes I'm fine. Thanks for asking! As soon as they realized there was a problem, they immediately asked what they could do to fix it.
This has nothing to do with the silver costume... it was purely the Borg costume.
Q: Hi Jeri! The impending holiday season makes me wonder how you will feel about becoming a doll (complements of whichever manufacturer) along with the rest of your Star Trek compatriots?
Laura
JR: It's very surreal, which I think I've said before, but seeing yourself on the shelves of Toys R Us is a bit disconcerting.
Q: Ms. Jeri Ryan, Are there many bloopers caused by you having to act so serious for your part that you play?
Adam
JR: The outtake reel would be REALLY embarrassing if it got out.
Q: Who is your favorite Trek character ever?
Anika7of9
JR: LOL. Me me me me me! :-)
Q: Is it easy to remember so many lines, since you have become sort of the main character in the Voyager plot?
EddyA
JR: The toughest part is the techno-babble, which is killing me! It's like learning Russian for "Dark Skies" because I'm basically memorizing syllables with no frame of reference.
Q: Do you have a favorite artist? (I'm an art major !) P.S. You are a great actress ! I hope to illustrate you on Star Trek book covers ! :-)
Jason
JR: I love Impressionist art. I love Monet. I love Renoir.
Q: What do you do plan on doing after you have finished shooting this season
chirsty
JR: Sleeping. For a really long time. :-)
Q: Hey Jeri -- you've really livened up Voyager!! You're great!! Question: Who's the funniest cast member you work with?
Jen
JR: Thanks a lot. And that's a tough question. It's really a toss-up... but I'd have to say it's between Ethan Phillips and Dr. Bob.
Q: Hi, my name is Andrew I did a lot of the work to set up the chat today, but I get stuck out here (outside the chat room.) Will you say hi to me before you leave?
Andrew
JR: No. Absolutely not. :-)
But thanks for the ice blended mocha!
Q: My best friend's name is Onica Johansen and she's freaking out because the new character's name is "Onica Hansen." How'd the name come about?
JoeK
JR: We actually loosely based the character on her life. So please thank her for me.
Q: Don't worry to much about what you hear on the internet about you. It mostly comes for a bunch of hormone-raging teenagers. We're born with it. Take it as a complement. Most of us don't intend to offend you. We're mostly harmless. Anyway, I think your a great addition to the crew of voyager and I wish you good luck. I read your Details interview. I thought your answers were the most intelligent. =)
Theendlessabyss
JR: Thanks! By the way, Details is not my all-time favorite interview. My sex life is not what I planned on discussing.
Q: Jeri, I'm not being rude with this, but would you ever pose naked?
RangerX
JR: No.
Q: Jeri, would you ever date a younger man if you weren't married? :-) :-) :-)
RangerX
JR: How much younger are we talking about? Are we talking 'arrest me' young?
Q: I wrote you a letter, before. Have you, or will you, respond to any?
Drew
JR: From what I understand, they bring you your mail once you fill up a big box or something. So I haven't gotten your letter yet. Please don't think I'm ignoring you.
But yes, I absolutely will. It just may take awhile.
Q: Where were you born?
Locutus
JR: Munich, Germany.
Q: You were born in Germany. Why do you choose to reside in Chicago?
Rob
JR: I was an Army brat, so I moved around a lot. I ended up in Chicago when I went to Northwestern and I fell in love with it (and my husband.)
Q: I've heard you weren't much of a Trek fan before you came aboard (no problem, you're only human :-) ). What image of Star Trek came to your mind when you got the Voyager offer?
SmorgasOfBorg
JR: Spock.
And by the way, you've got the best name ever.
Q: ever done a nude scene in a film?
Gromit
JR: Nope.
Q: With only "one mind" in the Borg collective, it must be REALLY easy to pick a television show to watch, eh? :-)
Kristian
JR: (laughing...)
Q: Are you a religious person?
Rob
JR: Yes I am.
Q: What do you think about Babylon 5?
DavidB
JR: I've never seen it.
Q: What has been the most enjoyable job that you've had.
Shari
JR: To be honest, this one is. I'm going to sound like Pollyanna, but it's really true.
Q: Jeri, you must be nearly blind from reading and answering all these endless questions.. says she who also asks. Anyway, how do you deal with all the PR demands?
Laura
JR: Well, I mentioned the chains, didn't I? And then there's the whole Borg, "You must comply" thing.
But really, it's fun.
Q: Jeri! I just wanted to say "Hi" and to thank you for bringing your talent to Star Trek. You're a wonderful actress and I look forward to watching you each week on Voyager. Best of luck to you!! Oh, I THINK YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!
Jeff
JR: Well hi Jeff. Thanks very much!
Q: Do you have any humor?
A.U.M.
JR: None.
Q: Jeri, How long have you known that you wanted to be an actress?
SubCmdr_Thei
JR: It's what I've always wanted to be. When I was a little girl, it was either an actor or a veterinarian. And when I was a senior in high school I had to decide between majoring in theatre or bio-medical engineering. So of course my practical nature obviously won out. (Laughs)
Q: Do you love to watch movies and TV or do you try to stay away from it?
Matt
JR: I enjoy watching, I just don't have a lot of free time.
Q: I hope you never do a nude scene . Maintain the mystery!
Brian
Q: So what do you love to eat more than anything else in this world?
Matt
JR: Cheesecake.
Q: Is it your real name
Rick
JR: My full name is Jeri Lynn and my maiden name was Zimmermann.
Q: So what did you have for dinner tonight?
Jack
JR: Lord, I actually haven't gotten to eat yet. The food is just beyond my reach and they won't loosen the chains!
Q: I read your Details article too, you outclassed the lot of them! Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesdays!
GT
JR: Thanks GT!
Q: Now that you're a big TV star, do you still go to fast food joints like MacDonald's and Taco Bell?
JR: You're going to think I'm a liar, but you just named my two favorite restaurants.
Q: We haven't seen you yet but Europe will love you!!! Do you like traveling? What is your favourite Vacation spot?
Andreas
JR: Italy.
Q: If you were single and Tigger and Piglet asked you out who would you pick?
SilverSurfer
JR: It's a toss-up. Piglet's awfully cute. But I think I'm a Tigger gal.
Q: Would you let your son have a seven of nine doll? How would you feel about him removing it's limbs?
Drew
JR: Well, I've already seen what the guys in the make-up trailer do to the dolls, so I'm prepared.
Q: You haven't ate yet? And you spent most of your night with us? Wow, you're more than great, you're SUPER!!!
RangerXofXYZ
JR: Thanks Ranger. Got any fries by any chance?
Q: What do your friends call you? Lynn or Jeri?
kaerf
JR: That's a very good question. It depends on when they met me. If it's up until college, I'm Lynn. If it's once I've moved to LA, it's Jeri Lynn, up until Star Trek, then it becomes Jeri. Confused?
Q: What do you feel is the biggest challenge in becoming a new full time character in an established show?
Nick
JR: It could have been a very awkward situation, coming into a show that had been around for so long, but the cast, crew and producers were all incredibly warm and really bent over backwards to make me feel like part of the family.
Q: Jeri, what is your favorite movie?
Garak
JR: Of all time? "Sophie's Choice"... followed closely by "Toy Story."
Q: you seem very intelligent, besides very beautiful. did they make you take any weird tests upon your audition?
noel
JR: Just the normal DNA analysis. You know, blood, hair and skin samples.
Q: Which do you prefer - stage or screen?
SmorgasOfBorg
JR: They're two completely different animals... I love them both.
Q: I just want to tell you that you are an actress of many talents. One of the more difficult ones that you do nicely is you have a sense of humor but always sound intelligent no matter what you say!
Chad
JR: ... huh?
Thanks. :-)
