Nicole's character "Ezri Dax" joined "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" in this, the show's seventh and final season.
Question: hello is there anyway I could send you fanmail I've been asking around but can't find out. Thanks
Josh
Nicole deBoer: You can write me c/o Paramount Studios/Deep Space 9/5555 Melrose Avenue/Los Angeles, CA 90038
Q: Are you enjoying working on a Star Trek Series? How is the Work compared to DWB?
Paul
NDB: Of course I am. It's great. Obviously Star Trek is much bigger than DWB (Deep Water Black), known as Mission: Genesis in the US. I had a lot more power on that show. And here I have none.
Q: Have you been asked to do a DS9 movie?
Marcus
NDB: Yes, just me. The movie will be all about Ezri.
No, actually I haven't. It hasn't been mentioned.
Q: Do you get along better w/ Michael Dorn than Ezri does w/ Worf?
Tenek-Rujat
NDB: I get along with Michael very well. However, I don't get along as well as Ezri gets along with Worf at times... and I don't want to give anything away.
Q: Do you see any kind of a relationship developing between Dax and Dr. Bashir?
Candace
NDB: I would think that it's a possibility and kissing Sid would be fine, too. But I'd be afraid of Nana.
Q: What does it feel like to be now a permanent part of Star Trek History?
Jamie
NDB: Sometimes it hits me when I lie awake in bed at night. Just how big a deal it really is. It's very very cool.
Q: I'm from Holland,your name is dutch,is that right?
Marc
NDB: Yes, that is right. deBoer means 'the farmer' or 'of the land' I believe. And it's quite common a name in Holland.
Q: How do I know this is the real Nicole deBoer???
#1 fan
NDB: You don't. Ha ha!
Q: Whose Idea was it to have a younger DAX on DS9's final Season?
Pasquale
NDB: I believe it was Terry Farrell's.
Q: What was your first reaction, when you realized that you play a figure in STAR TREK and when did you know it ?
Storch
NDB: I'm a figure? I thought I was real! My legs don't bend right!
Q: If you had to be a spokesperson for any organization, which would you choose and why?
Jenn
NDB: That's a good question. Actually, I haven't decided on one yet, but it's something I think about.
Q: In National Lampoon's Senior Trip you played a lesbian, Meg Smith. Did you have any problems playing this role?
ds9trekkie
NDB: No, not at all. Unfortunately, that's all there was to the character. All I knew was I was a lesbian
Q: Do you like Bruce Springsteen?
Springsteen and Star Trek fan
NDB: I'm not a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen, but I respect him very much.
Q: How do you like Star Trek? I think you're a great character. Losing Judzia turned out not to be that bad. It is so much fun getting to know a new character! Keep up the good work!
Grace
NDB: Thank you. I'm having a lot of fun on the show.
Q: How are you getting along with the rest on the cast and are you disappointed that you will only be on the show for its final season?
SILBOR
NDB: I get along with everyone very well. There is a lot of laughter. I think I will miss it when it's over. I don't want to think about it right now, but there'll probably be a few tears.
Q: Dear Nicole, Were you a Star Trek fan before you started playing Ezri Dax on Star Trek DS9?
solo27383
NDB: Yes, I watched the original series. And I loved the Next Generation. But now that I'm on this show... Just kidding.
Q: Are you having fun on the show?
Shelly
NDB: Overall, yes. But the days are very long and a lot of hard work. I usually work five days a week, ranging from 10-16 hours a day.
Q: Was it hard to begin working with people who had been together six years and was it hard to become a character with so many aspect and personalities. Also I believe you did a good job with the new dax.
Kim (Dax of DS9)
NDB: Everyone made me feel very welcome. I've had fun developing the character. It was interesting for me because in the beginning the other actors were just meeting me, Nicole, and the characters on the show were just meeting Ezri. I think that helped me.
Q: Hello, and i would like to say i think you are very beautiful, and you add a certain breath of fresh air to DS9. You're doing a great job in in the dax continuation, and i hope you can countinue to keep the personalities of j-dax, and e-dax seperate.
donnie
NDB: Well, thank you, Donnie.

Seth
NDB: Welllll..... I don't think I should. But thank you.

Adam
NDB: Yeah, I'm left-handed.
Q: Has William Shatner being a Canadian helped in allowing Canadians access to Star Trek?
Terry
NDB: I don't think so, but you never know. Actually, I have met Mr. Shatner. I auditioned for him for Tek War. I did not get the part.
Q: What is your quest!?
d3nt
NDB: To seek the Holy Grail, of course.
Q: Will we see Ezri explore her Klingon past, and if not, will we learn more about Trill culture though your character's journey?
Dawut
NDB: I doubt we'll explore her Klingon past, as that was something that Jadzia did. There will be more, however, on Trill culture.
Q: What kind of music do you most enjoy to listen to?
Mendak
NDB: I'm definitely an 'alternative' music girl. I used to be a punk rocker, but I didn't get much work with the hair.

Q: Nicole, you've said before that you used to be very shy as a child before you started acting.. I was wondering why you think acting helped you overcome your shyness, and if you ever struggle with it now?
Scott
NDB: Yes I was a very shy child. My family was shocked when I got the part of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz in grade 4. Acting was an opportunity to be someone else, so when I'm not acting, I can still be shy. Or not.
Q: Do you rehearse or spend time at any of the other actors' homes? Are you close to any of them?
QuarksLdy
NDB: We rehearse on the set. Maybe if we had more prep time we would do things like rehearse at each others' houses.
Q: I hear it takes about 4 hours to put your style of makeup on. How do you pass the time while this is being done?

Jean Claude
NDB: That's cute.
Q: How do you like the folks in Hollywood?
Dennis
NDB: There's definitely a lot of interesting characters. Actually, I find people to be very nice.
Q: Ever thought about goin' for the next Star Wars movie in a few years?I mean you're doin' Star Trek, why not Star Wars?

I get a Grande percent Latte and go to work. I get my spots from Mr. Westmore.... Maybe have a bagel... and then we rehearse the first scene of the day. And then I get my wardrobe on. We work for six hours and then we have a one hour lunch break. The food's not very good. I talk to my manager... Maybe talk to my mom.... And then I'm back to work... If we work long enough we get a dinner break.

Q: Do you ever find it difficult to act around special effects that will not be created until post production. If so, do you have any funny stories about any particular instances?

Q: What type of storyline would you like to see your character in and do you have any input in the course of discussions?
James
NDB: I want to see Ezri kick some Cardassian butt.
Q: did you have to move to LA when you got the part or did you already have an apartment there?
adam
NDB: I had to move and start from scratch.
