Marina Sirtis ("Deanna Troi" - TNG)

Question: What happened to the romance between Worf and Deanna Troi?
Fred

Marina Sirtis: He's now having a relationship with Dax on DS9 and she is welcome to him. :-)

Q: Have you found that you've learned things from the Character Troi and have incorporated them into your personal life?
Irene

MS: I've learned to be a tad more patient and less abrasive. Michael Dorn may disagree.

Q: Hello Marina, I've heard that Patrick Stewart was involved in different live stage plays that included cast members from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Did you take part as well? Does this production still exist?
Rod

MS: The play that Patrick did with some of the cast was Every Good Boy Deserves Favor. I have renamed The Play Marina's Not In.

Patrick is too busy now to continue that project.

Q: Why do you think men find Troy so sexy?
Paul

MS: They do?

Who knew?

Maybe you should ask some of the men on the chat line.

Q: Do you have any other projects beside Star Trek in the works?
Kevin

MS: I just finished a movie in Scotland called Gadgetman which should be out on American cable next year. I get to play an evil villain.

Typecast again.

Q: Marina,Does Troy get more screen time then she did in the last movie?
Paul

MS: I think so. The scenes I'm involved in are certainly different to the Troi we have seen in the past.

I'm much happier with this movie than the last one.

Q: Hello Mairina, did you enjoy filming "First Contact"?
Wrynn

MS: Big hint. Spell the guest's name right. Otherwise she gets really pissed off...

Apart from two weeks of night shoots in the LA National Forest where we froze to death the rest was really fun. It was great to work with my best friends again.

Q: How do you deal with the fame of being in Star Trek and all the recognition it brings?
Irene

MS: Fortunately I'm not as recognizable out of the hair so I do actually lead quite a normal life. As long as I don't speak I'm okay.

Q: Marina, What do you mean by saying, "Out of the hair".
Andy

MS: I wore a wig on the show. My hair isn't nearly as long and luscious.

Q: Marina, are there any other Betazoids besides Troi?
Wrynn

MS: Where have you been for the last 9 years? In a cave?

Remember Lwaxana Troi, my mother?

What was she? Chopped liver?

Q: Marina could you name three words that described your experience with the next generation?
Matthew

MS: Is that your real name?

The three words I would use are fun, fulfilling, and life-changing. (I know that's cheating, but I was out late last night and its early).

Q: Hi Marina, where are you from originally?
Jack

MS: I'm from London, England.

Q: Are you dating anyone?
Sam

MS: Sam, I hate to tell you this but I'm married.

And I'm not dating anyone.

Q: Hi, will you be at the world premiere tomorrow at the Mann's Chinese theater?
Rob

MS: Are you kidding? Wild horses and a hundred Klingons couldn't keep me away.

Q: Are you always this feisty?
John

MS: I don't know what you mean.

Q: Hi, if you don't mind me asking what do you do when you are not filming?
Spurlock

MS: I'm looking for another film.

Q: Marina: What is your favorite part of "First Contact"?
Wrynn

MS: I get to be involved in the comedy this time so I'm thrilled with that.

Q: Marina, by the end of the Television run of the series I noticed you seemed far prettier than from the beginning , 10 years ago. Do you have a secret? Giggles, please tell me!
Irene

MS: One of the main reasons I looked different was that I had lost a lot of weight. Also, we improved on the hair and I had a fantastic make up artist.

Q: Hi Marina, Will you be coming to England in December for the Wembley show
Samuel

MS: Yes I'll be there. I don't know which day though.

Q: Would you like to do another TV series?
Paul

MS: I would love to do another TV series. The only proviso is that it be as good as Star Trek.

Q: Knowing, more or less what your former "shipmates" feel, about the Next Generation Series, tell me...do you all believe that it was a mistake to change the format of the show from TV to BIG SCREEN?
Emet_Leah

MS: That was a decision that was made by the studio executives. We will see after First Contact comes out whether the fans will except Next Generation on the big screen.

Q: How do you feel about Odo being Deanna's stepfather?
Don

MS: He is? When did that happen? Oops...gave the game away. I'm not sitting glued to my TV watching DS9.

Q: Are you going to be making any guest appearances on Star Trek: Deep Space 9 or Star Trek: Voyager?
Jay

MS: After that last question and answer, what do you think?

Q: Marina, is there anything you regret about becoming a part of the Star Trek universe? The type-casting, ect...?
James

MS: Absolutely nothing. I think this cast has proved by the fact that we have all gone onto work on other projects that there is life after Star Trek. It has been a totally positive experience.

Q: Marina: Why did they decide to let you be involved in comedy this time?
Wrynn

MS: I have no idea. Maybe they wanted some of the real Marina to finally materialize in Troi.

Q: How did you feel that Whoopi Goldberg had the largest female role in Generations?
Hello

MS: She's Whoopi Goldberg. Its just amazing that she wanted to be involved in Star Trek as much as she did.

Q: Would you be interested in Battle Ground Earth being shot in Toronto? As a new series?
Paul

MS: Majel hasn't mentioned any involvement for me. I have had a lot of trouble with Canadian immigration in the past. I get really nervous going up there.

Q: What is your opinion on the way Star Trek and the Internet are interacting?
Don

MS: The rumors and information spread much faster now. Doesn't necessarily means its always true. My advice would be read with a pinch of salt.

Q: What do you miss most about the series? What do you miss least?
Doodle

MS: I miss my fellow cast members the most. I miss getting up at 4:30 am the least.

Q: You mentioned earlier that you were married, is your husband an actor also?
Jack

MS: No my husband is a musician. His name is Michael Lamper.

Q: What kind of trouble have you had with Canadian immigration.
Andy

MS: Who are you and why do you want to know that?

I'm not answering that just in case you work with Canadian immigration.

Q: Do you feel that Paramount squeezes too much money out of us fans on merchandising and silly gimmicks?
Barry

MS: So is anyone dragging you to the store and making you take your credit card out of your wallet? There are some wonderful products with my face on them which I would urge you to buy. The rest of the cast - well they ain't so great. :-)

Q: Do you still keep in touch with your "crewmates" when not filming?
Jay

MS: We became best friends very quickly. Consequently the only thing different about working together is that we see each other all the time.

Q: Can I have your autograph?
Iain

MS: Anyone wanting an autograph can write to me care of Paramount Pictures.

5555 Melrose Avenue,

Hollywood, CA, 90038

MS: Put Star Trek on the envelope somewhere. They have short memories over there.

Q: What's your favorite episode of Star Trek?
Ben

MS: I like the episodes I'm in the most.

Q: Did you prefer the stronger Troi of the later years or the cosmic Troi of the first couple of Seasons?
David

MS: I will let you figure that one out yourselves by reading my previous answers.

Q: A lot of the actors from the original series have come out with tell-alls. Do you have any plans on writing a book?
Mystic

MS: None of us could get a publishing deal because we only have nice things to say about each other.

Q: Do you ever miss life here in London, now that you live in the states?
Barry

MS: I was in London recently and I must admit I get very nostalgic for it. The thing I miss the most is football (soccer).

And Spurs weren't doing very well when I was there so I was depressed.

Q: Is this really Marina Sirtis?
Paul

MS: Yes it is. You are confused aren't you because I'm not as sweet as Troi.

Q: What's your biggest regret in life?
James

MS: I don't believe in regrets.

Q: How is Mr. Frakes as a director? There are rumors of tension on the set.
Paul

MS: This proves my point about rumors. There was not tension on the set. Never has been tension on the set. Jonathan was always a favorite director. On First Contact we would have walked over hot coals for him because we wanted to make the best movie possible.

Q: Hi, would you be interested on performing in a musical again (or any other theatre play)and which would it be? Greetings from Germany :)
Marina

MS: Hi Marina. Did you see Rocky Horror? I'd love to be in a musical again. However, Brent is such a good singer that I've been intimidated into not singing as much.

Q: Do you have any pets?
Elim

MS: Yes. I have a dog and six cats.

And the dog is in charge despite the fact that the cats are twice as big as he is.

Q: Do you see yourself as a role model? Do you like that?
Ken

MS: I think being involved in a show like Star Trek does carry a certain responsibility. A lot to do with the way the character was portrayed was in the writing. But I do try to make sure that I live my life in a way that the young people who watch the show do not necessarily find fault with it. I think that makes sense.

Q: Yesterday's soccer results: Spurs won, Arsenal lost :-)
Barry

MS: Yes!!! On that note I'm going to go now. I'm happy. Maybe if I had learned this sooner I wouldn't have been quite as devilish.
