Stored away in a shoe box since the mid 80's, this is a prop replica built by Jim Kirk in the mid 1970's (yes, he legally changed his name). This kind of work prompted Gene Rodenberry to commission Jim to build 10 comm's for the series 'Phase II'. Of course Phase II became 'ST The Motion Picture' so his comm's were never used, but this remains a testament to his talent.
