After sustaining damage during the first formal declaration of war between the Romulan Star Empire and Earth Collation forces, Enteprise had to be towed home by other surviving ships. Now having spent 180 days in drydock, she has been refitted with a secondary hull and beefed-up defensive and offensive capabilities. With undercover Romulan agents having sowed the seeds of distrust between Collation member worlds, Starfleet and a flotilla of aging Earth ships have been left to fight on alone, in defence of their colonies less than a few dozen light years from Earth. Returning Enterprise and newly constructed ships like her, to the front line could well be Starfleet's only hope in turning the tide.
