Tough, tall Brian Thompson may best be known as the alien bounty hunter from The X-Files, during the years he appeared five times in Star Trek—first as displaced Klingon officer Klag in TNG’s “A Matter of Honor.” All five were non-human roles, including the premiere Dosi, Inglatu, in DS9’s “Rules of Acquisition,” the Duras sisters’ Klingon helmsman in Generations, and Weyoun’s Jem’Hadar Second Toran’torax in DS9’s “To the Death.” Most recently, he appeared in the Enterprise trilogy beginning with “Babel One” as Romulan Admiral Valdore, overseeing the empire’s first deceptive, remote-control friction with Earth and allies.
Born in 1951 in Ellensburg, Wash., Thompson began his career with a small role in the original Terminator, then later Trent Porter in Alien Nation and Hercules in Jason and the Argonauts. He had four appearances as Luke the Judge on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, regular Sheriff Cody West in Key West, and turned up most recently on NCIS, Chuck, 2 Broke Girls, Californication, and the film The Arcadian.
