High "teer," or chief, of the Ten Tribes of planet Capella IV, who was killed in 2267 by rival Maab in a Klingon-induced power struggle over leadership of the tribes. Shortly after his death, Akaar's widow Eleen gave birth to his son, Leonard James Akaar, who succeeded his father as teer.
