Humanoid, spacefaring race who belived in the strict separation of the sexes by law, raising their children by the same-sex parent only and keeping them ignorant of the other gender until age 16. Their law provides that a son is property of the mother's new husband, however, in the event of a "divorce" — which is accomplished only by the ex-spouse's acceptance of the new suitor's verbal declamation of love to the mate.
