A long time Star Trek fan, noted actor Christian had had his own brief, uncredited cameo in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Thanks to not only his fame but his mother, ST VI casting director Mary Jo Slater, Slater appears as the unidentified nigh-shift "Excelsior communications officer" who awakens Captain Sulu in his quarters.
Christian Michael Leonard Slater was born on August 18, 1969 in New York, and began his entertainment career at the age of 7 in 1976 on The Edge of Night soap opera before appearing in many Broadway shows in the early 1980s. That decade also saw Slater star in theatrical hits The Legend of Billie Jean and the cult hit Heathers, followed by Pump Up the Volume Kuffs, True Romance, Young Guns II, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Interview With teh Vampire, He has appeared in over 100 TV series and films during his career, nd has returednm to teh stage as well.
