This location became infamous when an unarmed United Federation of Planets outpost along the formerly disputed border with Cardassia was subject to a raid where 100 civilians were killed by a Cardassian militia squad in 2347. The next day, troops under Captain Maxwell of the U.S.S. Rutledge survived house-to-house fighting to reinforce the lone survivors in an outlying district.
