This freighter was from one of the many inhabited Rigel planets, which were already conducting business through the wormhole by the time Croden was returned to the Gamma Quadrant in 2369.
The ship was used to run interference, as means to hide the runabout that Croden was aboard as means to evade the scans of the Ah-Kel, the vengeance-seeking Miradorn, whose twin Croden killed.
