Navigator of the science vessel Ariel under the command of Lt. Commander Tom Markel. In 2269 Markel, Randi Bryce and Lt. Randolph abandon their ship to find three other missing crewmembers on Lactra VII, and are captured by the Lactrans for their intergalactic zoo. While in captivity Randolph falls ill and runs a fever, apparently from a malarial-type infection caused by an insect bite. She is treated back to health once the Lactrans decide to release the humans to the care of the U.S.S. Enterprise.
