Hailing from the hyperaccelerated world of Scalos, Rael tried unsuccessfully to freeze the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise in 2268 in order to harvest the males for breeding purposes. Rael's desperate actions were rationalized by the fact that the males on Scalos were all infertile due to radiation contamination.
