Episode: DS9 437 - Playing God
An infant universe, snagged by Dax's Runabout in 2370, whose growth threatened to displace the known dimension. Its high plasma concentrations, rapidly and periodically expanding mass in specific phased spurts followed the known pattern of universe expansion -- although its energy properties didn't conform to known physical laws. After non-random thermodynamics and irregular power consumption indicated signs of intelligent life. Commander Sisko resists the option of simply destroying it and had Dax return it on a potentially fatal through the wormhole while risking verteron contact.
