In 2365, the Pagh, a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, took part in a new, officer-exchange program between Starfleet and the Klingon Empire.

The vessel was host to Commander Riker, who served as first officer to Captain Kargan.

Riker was reportedly the first human to serve aboard a Klingon vessel, and helped delay tensions when the Pagh's hull damage was found to be caused by an odd bacteria, not Starfleet sabotage.
