This unknown warship was responsible for attacking Rana IV, a remote, Federation planet. The attack left behind two survivors: Kevin and Rishon Uxbridge.

The Enterprise-D responded to the planet's distress signal and, following its investigation, was later attacked by the warship, which crippled the Enterprise's weapons systems.

After destroying the ship, Picard deduced that the warship somehow responded to Kevin's wishes. Later, Picard learned that the ship was a product of Kevin's powers, and that Kevin was really the alien Douwd.

Douwd, while visiting Rana IV, fell in love with Rishon Uxbridge and lost her during the Husnock's attack on the planet 50 years ago.
