Halo fish
Alien fish that bear a resemblance to terrestrial angelfish, except for the bright halo of multicolored light they emit. Because halo fish lose their colorful illumination in response to any change in their environment, they provided one of the first clues that every living thing aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise had begun to shrink on stardate 5577.3 (2269).
