A sister starship to the U.S.S. Saratoga in the Battle of Wolf 359 with the Borg on stardate 44001.4 — in the second wave with the U.S.S. Kyushu. All ships which fought at Wolf 359 were destroyed, including the U.S.S. Gage.

 

The Gage was named for Thomas Gage (1721-1787), a British general, colonial administrator and governor of Massachusetts who paved the way to the start of the American Revolution.
