Being indigenous to the inert layer of subspace in the Delta Quadrant termed the "Void." Befriended by the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager when that ship became trapped in the Void. Fantome and his race communicate via musical tones, and he recieved his name from The Doctor, naming him after the Phantom of the Opera. Fantome and his people aided Voyager and her allies in their escape.
