EMH Mark II

A second-generation model of the Emergency Medical Hologram program, the successor version to the one installed on Voyager and like ships. The Mark II was programmed especially for its prototype U.S.S. Prometheus testbed but was not yet field-tested by the time of launch in 2374, when both a Romulan hijacking crew and Voyager’s Doctor came calling. The Mark II was programmed with just enough human personality to come off as overly cautious when informed of the Romulan takeover, but it learns much from the Voyager EMH Doctor after losing its unintended successor’s air of superiority.
