Robin Curtis took over the role of Saavik from Kirstie Alley, playing the Vulcan character in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Curtis is one of a rare group of actors who has appeared in both the original Kirk-era movies and in a later series, having also appeared in the two part "Gambit" episode of ST:TNG as renegade Vulcan Tallera.
