Federation starship, Constitution-class, registry no. NCC-1017, commanded by Commodore Matt Decker. Confronted by an extragalactic planet killer weapon in 2267 near system L-374, the Constellation took heavy damage as its crew was evacuated to a planet which was eventually destroyed by the killer weapon. The Constellation's impulse engines were later programmed to self-destruct within the maw of the killer weapon, finally destroying it.
