Twentieth-century scientist from Earth who assisted in the Army's communication attempts with the stranded Ferengi trio of Nog, Quark, and Rom in 1947. Carlson later helped the Ferengi escape their incarceration and subsequent return to their own timeline. Carlson was engaged to Faith Garland at the time.
