This item was identified by Andrew Marple from El Paso, Texas, Stefanie Groener from Torino, Italy, Roger Holloway from LaGrange, New York and Linwood Mielke from Elkhart, Indiana.
According to the Christie's Catalogue, this is:
LOT 131 - MIRROR UNIVERSE FLAGS
Five nylon flags with silkscreened emblems, including one with the Triskelion emblem from "Gamesters of Triskelion" in Star Trek: The Original Series, Q's military emblem from "Encounter at Farpoint" in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and the Mirror Universe planet-and-dagger emblem, all -- 60x36in. -- used in the conference room in the evil Mirror Universe Enterprise in "In A Mirror Darkly" in Star Trek: Enterprise
Estimate:
$300-500
Everyone who responded recognized the Terran Empire symbol! Dave Carley from Richmond, Virginia said, "this took me about .1 seconds to identify." Amy Druitt commented, "Flotter was the only ID easier to make than this one."
Andrew was the first in with his mention of the Terran Empire. Stefanie pointed out that it was
seen in the conference room in "In a Mirror, Darkly" and provided a screenshot to prove it. Many people suggested this was the flag planted on the moon in that episode's opening credits.
However, that shot was CGI... so this very real flag (one of five items in this auction lot)
would not have been used.
Roy B. Snyder, Sr. from Otsego, Michigan ended his entry with the quote, "VICTORY TO THE EMPIRE!!" Honorable mention goes to Dwayne R. Freitas from New York, who listed all the alternate-universe episodes in his entry.
Thanks to everyone who participated over the past five weeks! We hope you enjoyed it.
