Many of you correctly identified the snuff box. Extra credit goes to Linwood Mielke of Elkhart, Indiana who also mentioned four episodes in which it appeared, and quoted the 65th Rule of Acquisition: "Win or lose, there's always Hupyrian beetle snuff." Mark LaCroix from Minneapolis, Minnesota credited the designers' "skill in creating a consistent-looking universe," making identification possible because "the thing 'looks' Ferengi."
Tim Borkowski from Parma, Ohio even suggested that this item was first seen in the episode that aired "March 21, 1993 at 7 o'clock in Ohio on channel 43."
Other interesting guesses suggested that the box might have contained Picard's Ressikan flute, the gems Quark tried to sell Harry Kim in "Caretaker", Yeoman Rand's hairbrush, Harry Mudd's "Venus" drug, and a note from Rom.
