The original ship's phasers (bottom) were often red, but they could
also be a blue beam depending on the episode. Also in the original shot
from "Arena," the firing point is
higher up the underside of the saucer section. For the new remastered version, the phasers will
be standardized as blue, with an origination point closer to the sensor array/navigational
dome. And for those with a keen eye for detail, note the blue reflection on the ship, as well
as the subtle strobe effect at the firing point.
