What if torpedoes could change frequency after passing through shields?

sounds like a good idea to me

I thought about this, but if so, the shelds of an attacking ship would not have to be alligned with that of it's weapons.

[/quote]why would you think that?

"In combat situations, starships would match their own shield and weapon frequencies so their shielding did not interfere with their own weapons. Some weapons technologies, including those commonly used by the Borg, had rapidly adjustable frequencies, meaning that they could quickly penetrate a shield that was using a static frequency. An effective counter was to repeatedly and randomly alter the shield harmonics to minimize the effectiveness of the weapon's retuned frequencies. (Star Trek Generations; TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds")"

this would be like the one-way force field.

If it can be done with force fields, why not with shields?

I'm sorry but I dont think thats ever benn confirmed in any canon source..I....while that sounds logical, dont recall any mention in any trek series about a ships weapons possibly interfering with its own sheilds..

As far as I know they never went into the mecanics of how it works.
