Nano Panels Beam Heat Into Space

A video discussing how panels can redirect the heat from Earth into space.


I was think that since the panels can beam the excess heat back into space could the panels be directed to transfer the to heat other facilities as well as being used to heat craters where frozen ice water is though to be?

Scientists have created a heat-resistant thermal emitter, an element used in specialized solar cells, that could significantly improve the efficiency of the cells. The novel component is designed to convert heat from the sun into infrared light, which can than be absorbed by solar cells to make electricity – a technology known as thermophotovoltaics.


Thermophotovoltaic devices are designed to overcome that limitation. Instead of sending sunlight directly to the solar cell, thermophotovoltaic systems have an intermediate component that consists of two parts: an absorber that heats up when exposed to sunlight, and an emitter that converts the heat to infrared light, which is then beamed to the solar cell.


Since the process creates a beam of infrared light that is beamed to the solar cell the process discussed in the article could be used to funnel excess heat from Earth to the Moon.


The base process would take place on Earth where the heat converted into an infrared beam is then directed to an orbital facility such as a satellite that would then converted the infrared beam back into heat storing the excess heat in specially designed bottles where the stored heat is then managed on a daily basis to maintain a nearly full storage bottle. The heat is then converted back into infrared light and then beamed to the next station until it finally reaches the Lunar facility is then converted into heat.


Another use of the panel would on Mars where the converted heat into infrared light could be beamed into the upper atmosphere of Mars or any other planet where the infrared light is converted into a form of energy that would cause reactions between the atoms within the atmosphere to create a controlled environment where an otherwise uninhabitable planet could be made to rain water trapped in the atmosphere as well as heating up the atmosphere to cause an artificial greenhouse effect.

The article discusses how the Heat Panels direct the sunlight away from Earth and back into space at a specific wavelength.


The panels could be set up to bounce the sunlight that has been converted into infrared wavelengths to an orbital facility orbiting Mars and then converted back into heat to be used by the station.


Another use would be to beam the infrared light to the same orbital facility where the facility would have a step up enhancer array that would be able to transfer the infrared light to facilities in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter where the infrared light would then be converted back into heat for mining and habitation purposes.


The network could even be used to beam infrared light from Mars to the Asteroid Belt to various planets in the Outer Rim where there is less light and less heat.


The secondary part of the facility would involve the Stanford Heat Resistant Panels that create electricity from heat. After the Heat Panels had could sunlight into infrared light and then converted back into heat the heat would be directed towards the Heat Resistant Panels where electricity would then be created.


Electricity that would then be able to be used for facility and mining operations in the Asteroid Belt as well as facilities located in the Outer Rim.
