A new link in locating planets that might have life on them would be retuned to include looking for the remnants of stars that have exploded in the vincintiy of a habitable planet or solar system. Because our Solar System has experienced the energy of an exploding star that aided in our solar systems design including life being present, other solar systems that are similar to our solar system would also had to have undergone a similar process of being subjected to an exploding star that is discussed in the article.

Here is something else to think about with regards to this discovery - I think that looking for a planet with life on it should involve looking for planets that have had a star explode close by sometime in its history after the planet has formed. The exploding star would suggest to me that when the star exploded in Earth's past it caused a solar system shift that could have been the result for life coming to be on Earth or depending upon the time frame of the exploding star could have caused the demise of the dinosaurs and the environment on Mars where the exploding star would have sent large chunks of matter hurling through space that would have directly effected the Sol System.
