CONTAINS SPOILERS:

I wonder why the other people didnt just say "We need hydrogen. For an explosion." instead of "Eyes in the dark. One moon circles." I suppose maybe there wouldnt have been an episode if they had done that, lol. Guinan using a weapon? Using the relationship of Chief Obrian and his wife to show a plot point, again? Warf wanting to commit suicide, again? Least favorite episode of all time.  However the part with Dr Crusher in the room with the corpses that all suddenly sat up was just awesomely spooky, lol.

I do not judge this episode quite as harshly.

I did feel the cryptic "Eyes in the Dark,
One Moon Circles" was not the right way
to express the alien's thoughts. But I
do know that dreams can be very surreal
and someone else being told about it may
find it perfectly obvious, what it means,
when we can't. I just chalked it up to
one of those things and got on with my
life. It's not a favourite episode,
but I enjoy it, very much ...

Also not my favorite episode but I enjoy watching it. That scene where Dr. Crusher is in that room when all the corpses sit is really terrifying. That one is a good Halloween episode.

I guess I looked at it a bit different...  If I was telepathically communicating with another being for which I didn't understand their language, I'd probably try to communicate in the simplest terms possible.  I guess between that and the fact that this communication happened in the subconscious - led me to believe that there were some "perception" issues here where Troi could not "interpret" exactly what the aliens were trying to convey....

It was a very awkward way to present
this interesting concept of how an
alien race might try to communicate
to an unknown race, especially when
it was about an urgent need. But the
problem is, many of these writers do
not come from a sci-fi background.

To them, weirdness is what identifies
sci-fi, because that's what makes it
other-worldly. The problem is, they
kind of stop thinking about it and
leave it at that, often times. And
the time pressures are incredible,
making a series. It doesn't add up,
the way it plays out in this episode.

At least their heart was in the right place.

Watched this episode at ~3:00 AM (didn't know the plot at the time)

Probably the better curcumstances. I was like listening those "One moon curcles"-dreams being half-conscious.

The music coupled with the hallucinations is enough to drive one under the blankets in broad daylight....

I like this one a lot, actually. And it's your worst episode? You must not have seen "Cost of Living" yet then. Now THAT is total crap stuck in the otherwise awesome Season 5.
