I just got done watching the DS9 episode, "Rules of Engagement". At the end, Sisko tells Worf he'd make a hell of a captain. My question is, why is it taking so long to make a series of this? We've been without a series for far too long.

I would like to watch a series starting somewhen between 2395 (alternative future as seen in "All good things..." TNG) and 2472 (the time when, according to Q, Humans will reach Delta Quadrant).

It would be great watch all together on the screen our most beloved Start Trek characters (with the sole exception of the E.M.Holographic Doctor: they should use digital materials of Robert Picardo as He was at VOY's age).

Think about a series with all our favourite STU characters taken from TNG-DS9-VOY (and new interesting ones) made in a modern style, more mature and with a strong emotional impact.

Image a new kind of enterprise able to change shape and appearence almost at will because it's made like a huge holographic room able to cast habitable holograms outside of the real structure but within the limit of shields.

A technology so evolute that is able to create and modify life quiet easily time and space becoming a threat even to godlike species like Q (a war against Gods?).

New exotic species aesthetically pretty different from old ones (they looked all the times like humans with some plastic surgery) and an evolution of the aesthetically concept of classic species as (or far more) similar to that seen between TOS and ENT.

A Federation that became itself corrupted by its own power and burocracy showing traits similar to Star Wars Repubblic as seen at the end of the SW ep. II-III.

Directives of the Federation has become outdated and not able to face new threats and problems.

A complete new Star Trek world able to enthusiasm new generations of fans with the reassurance of our most beloved characters and elements to bring back to the screen hordes of old fans that today are parents and grandparents.

The first show in history that will keep together in front of the screen three generation of fans. All the family. Grandpa will explain to grandsons/daughters clues and facts connected to TOS/TAS, while parents will be able to develop a dialogue with their teenagers sons/daughters about facts and clues between the new series and TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT.

Can you imagine it?

The Next Generation is the most deeply
satisfying of ALL of STAR TREK combined!

Having said that, I would not be in the
least bit interested in seeing a series
revolving around Worf. Especially now
that Michael Dorn, bless his cotton socks,
is so decrepit. But more than that, Worf's
story has already been told. Let's move on!

I guess you dont recall DS9 seasdon 6 episode "change of heart"

Sisko told worf it was likely he would never be offered a command of his own because of choosing to save Dax instead of completing the m,ission.

There has been rumoiurs of a Captain Worf series since DS9 ended  however CBS and Paramount will have to work in conjuntion to do this and it will have to much paperwork to do. Plus JJ won't want anyhting to distract from JJtrek so doubt it will ever happen

I'm not sure Worf would be a good Captain.  He is a very brave, talented and knowledgeable officer, and he has matured considerably--even holding several diplomatic positions.  But, I would still worry about his apparent preference for instincts over deliberation.

I think A Capt Worf series would be awesome. We would get to see the actual inner workings of the Klingon Empire for once.

We would be able to see their culture, their lore and how the Klingon Empire came into being from the vary first time that the first Klingon climbed out of the Targ pit smelling like....a Klingon.

I would also expect the other races such as the Romulan, Tholian, ect to have their own series were the focus was on their empire with the Federation being a backdrop to the story.

A bullfrog with a light in its belly is nothing more than a glutton looking to shine otherwise.

Worf's Starfleet jacket has a permanent record of his actions regarding the Cardassian informant re: "Change of Heart".  No command for him.

I'm not sure why you feel offended...i did not intend on insulting you in any way.

I think a Worf series would not succeed. First of all, he has been in two serieses already, so I think a lot of people would be tired of him. Also, he is not the most animated person. I think a more interesting captain would be better. That being said, if he made a cameo in a new series, that would be good!

However, I think a new series would be farther into the future than he is. Maybe another 100 years. After all this time since a TNG-era show, it would be more fitting to make a time jump. Maybe the first ship with Slipstream drive exploring the unexplored quadrants of the galaxy?
