It was my understanding that at least 2 nacelles were needed to generate a warp field. The Kelvin only has one. How can it achieve warp speed? While J.J. is a great story teller, he needs to stay true to the basics that Gene Roddenberry established for any writer to follow for the Star Trek universe.

Please familiarize yourself with the various designs and capacities of Starships.
A good source like the Star Fleet Technical Manual (based on original series technology) will show you starship designs with only one warp drive nacelle, making your statement invalid in any court of law.
This is not to be confused in any way as a support for JJ Abrams films.
It's just a matter of fact.
While I did like the first film, the second wasn't as good.
