Conceived by Gene Roddenberry, IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations) first appeared in the original Star Trek episode “Is There in Truth No Beauty” in 1968. Star Trek ... embraces peace and love and unity, and it says that civilization will reach maturity on the day it learns to value diversity in life and ideas."
