We all know that Season 4 was the end of Enterprise with quite a dissapointing finale which some myself included think of as a lost next gen episode.

However if Enterprise would have surivied for another season what do you think would have happened.  I quite like the take that the novels have went.

In leading up to the Romulan War and Trip faking his death with those pirates so he could work underocver for section 31 in romulan space.

The Finale would have been the end of the human/romulan war and maybe the signing of the federation of planets rather than the coalition

I think it should have shown the future Federation members testing their alliance. Enterprise could have become a ship where the four races worked together to prove the principle of multi-species exploration. Some of the dead weight (Reed/Sato/Mayweather) could have been substituted for Andorians or Tellarites.

More alien space nazis, continuity ignoring encounters with the Borg, long lost triplets, wedding after wedding after wedding, and a little green man that only Porthos can see and hear!

I don't pretend to know what would have been done. One rule of mine, even where Spock is concerned, don't bring dead people back to life. Trip died. Deal with it.

Blalock & Nimoy were the best two actors in the Star Trek universe. Go Vulcans!

I agree with the first part of your observation. As to dead weight. Even TOS went through lots of actors until they hit on Walter Koenig and that was distracting. Seems that they should have had one person for the role from the start, no?

I would have loved to see more of shran in season 5.. and perhaps the evolving of human andorian relations.. maybe even have shran come on board somehow as part of the crew (as they weree discussing)....

i also loved the sub plots of the vulcans being a bit envious/worried over the humans progress ... found that to be a very intriguing storyline... as they paint a picture of a great species alliance and friendship going through the type of bumps you may expect early on. perhaps using tpol to either understand humans bvetter or help mediate new situations between both humans and vulcans.

i particularly enjoyed watching the upgrades and 'first of' moments they had.. 1 of my favorite episodes was when enterprise came into watch the first voyage of the 2nd earth star ship...captained by (hernandez?) i believe.... as an example.. i would have loved to witnessing a warp drive advancement ....

Romulan war sounds exciting... although that would take up a whole year ... i would have left that for season 6.
