Warp Core Explosion on the Holodeck

Say, for instance, that someone was running a tactical simulation or other program on the holodeck, in which such program was in the engineering section of a "ship" and contained a warp core. And for whatever reason, a warp core breach happened and there was an antimatter explosion. If the holodeck's safetys are off and the program can't be stopped, then an explosion destroys the "ship" on the holodeck.

But what happens to the actual ship that the holoddeck is located on? Does it just damage or destroy that holodeck? Or would it cause other damage to happen to the ship (eg. Hull breaches)? Or does it do significant damage to the ship or even destroy the whole ship (thus being as deadly as an actual warp core explosion)? Or is there no damage at all?

I don't think there would be any damage at all. The holodeck wouldn't be using real antimater.

The program would simply end, as it did when the Krieger wave converter blew up on the holodeck in A Matter of Perspective. It's not a real warp core, or a real warp core breach, just a simulation of one. Turning the holodeck safetys off doesn't suddently grant the holographic warp core the full functionality of a real one.

While the first 2 replies SHOULD be completely correct, it unfortuately comes down to the whim of the writer.

First off, good video, I never realized how many contradictions there actually were.

Second, its funny that you mention that, because I seem to have found an example of "the whim of the writer" LOL. Near the end of The Killing Game, Part 1, theres a large simulated explosion on the holodeck, with the safetys off, and it causes the hologrid to blow across 3 decks.

So would that mean that a simulated warp core explosion, with the safetys off, would blow the entire hologrid?

in The Killing game the holodeck was being pushed to it's max. The Hirogrn had ordered it to be expanded and the grid was already fragile. I think that's why the explosion did damage
