Just wondering who you all think would make a good Captain Picard in a Star Trek reboot. Any ideas?

Patrick Stewart, alone, is Jean-Luc Picard. However ...
Benedict Cumberbatch would make a superb Data!

We don't need a "reboot" on TNG... but maybe a spinoff.  CAPT Riker of the Titan would be fun.  Michael Dorn is even pursuing something.

yes I would have much rather seen a movie wih Captain Riker on the Titan than the reboot crap.

Michael Dorn WAS working on something but the Trek high ups shot him down because they didn't want anything to compete with JJ Trek. This is from Dorn directly

Yea... I hadn't seen an update for a while and hadn't been looking for it...

Maybe they could take IKS Gorkon books and make them into a series.

Faran Tahir as Picard. A Pakistani-American actor playing a French character formerly played by an English actor...sounds about right. Anyway, he's bald.

I say bring back Tom Hardy and make a TNG prequel, maybe Picard fresh out of the academy serving on the Stargazer...

The Next Generation is my favorite Star Trek TV series and it had arguably 2/4 feature films that were good, but I don't want anyone  replacing its unique and original cast for any reboot. I wish Dorn had the power to go full speed ahead with whatever his idea was instead of the outlook being another one or two films from JJ. Star Trek is in a precarious position right now, and the JJ films will eventually go by the waysidde no matter how much money they bring in.

The line must be drawn here....and no further!

I wish there could've been some more
NEXT GENERATION movies. I really do!
It could've been so beautiful ...
it could've been so RIGHT!!!

But I agree - wholeheartedly - with
any and ALL who say that a TNG reboot
is totally unacceptable and unwarrented!
TNG is just PERECT ... exactly the way it is!
So no more talking about TNG reboots - OK?

No more unpleasant things ... !!!

Amen, 2takesfrakes. No TNG reboots. But yes to more TNG films. Befire the cast really do get old and dont really want to do it anymore. It's been eleven years since their last big screen endeavor, but the fans remember TNG at its best, as did the writers of ENT's finale, "These Are The Voyages." That was a nice coda for TV TNG featuring Riker and Deanna Troi (with the voice of Data)! TNG will always remain a popular TV series, and I wish there could be more films.

Dear Star Trek fans I wonder if I can just put this out there, I believe Star Trek is missing something, I think it's missing a director that can give it new ideas a director who's not afraid to take chances, I'll give you an example Christopher Nolan, look at what Christopher Nolan did with that batman franchise I think he totally reinvented that character, and believe that’s what’s missing, I'll believe that's what's wrong with Star Trek.

Is there something wrong with TNG the way it is? Does this need to be watered down now too?

The only thing that was wrong with TNG was the terrible movie send-off they got. Such a shame, considering the cast and source material of the series. They deserved so much better than B4 and the Dune Buggy races and the picture of Academy-aged Picard who was BALD?? Ahhhh.. Well, you get the picture.
