Simply a jovial, English expression used when confronted with something
horrible and horrifying, that's all! Something that really burns the retinas ...

like seeing grandmotherly types in mid-life crisis, dressing like they're 20,
on their way to a club, or - as in the case you mentioned - in the raw!!!

Well Mr Misogyny, I hope you're ready to make the same gross, rude, sexist comments about Gates McFadden and Marina Sirtis, because they are both older than Majel was when she first played Lwaxana.

Just saw those two lovely ladies a few weeks ago. They looked fantastic! I hope I look half as good when I'm that age

One last time:

The casting of Majel as Deanna's mom was FINE! I buy her
in that capacity. But L'waxana Troi should've been written
entirely differently and made to dress in a much more
conservative manner. We all age, it is a part of life.

And part of aging is the loss of sex appeal. And part of life
is accepting that loss ... with dignity and grace.

L'waxana, as written and portrayed, has none. She is
a grandmotherly figure who fancies herself the desire
of every man - young & old. Worst of all she is annoying,
which was mistakenly believed to be comedic. It wasn't.

Says the person who has no idea what the meaning of "sex appeal" really is.

You  should start Tweeting at Marina Sirtis to cover up and about the fact that she's losing sex appeal. Because she's 57 and has been spotted wearing clothes that are a lot less conservative than Lwaxana (who by the way always wore long gowns with long sleeves and only showcased her cleavage. )  You're a silly, narrow minded person. And a bit of a sexist.

Here she is wearing a top that showcases HER cleavage! THE HORROR! And it's sleeveless!

Go ahead, tell Marina she should dress more "conservative" and that she's losing sex appeal.  I'll wait. Go, tweet her...

First ... let me start by saying that I do
NOT recall Majel Barrett EVER wearing an
outfit that was anything BUT conservative!
Occassionally, I will come across behind
the scenes shots of her with Gene, or on
stage, at a convention and she looks fine.
My comments have pertained to L'waxana Troi.

There is also a distinction between Marina,
the actress, and the characters she plays.
You know, as well as I, that famous celebrities are
prone to dressing outrageously - women, especially.
I have seen lots of interviews of Marina, during
her TNG years and, almost without exception, she
looked BETTER in her interviews than she did for
the show. I hate that STAR TREK never took notice.

I also hate the catsuits they pinned on her because
they all looked cheap and cheesey. Marina ROCKED
the skant outfit and the standard uniform. This was not
realized in the show until much later ... unfortunately ...
In her day, Marina was so beautiful - and it was very inspiring!
She probably SHOULD dress more conservatively now, but she
is still an International Celebrity and not a character on television ...

You keep posting but all I read is "Blah blah blah sexist remarks of a person that is uncomfortable around women".

Also, I'd like your definition of "conservative". Because you keep on saying that word but I do not think it means what you think it means.

Let's take a look shall we?

Hmmm ...covered to the neck.

I've seen Nuns showing more skin.

Again. covered to the neck

Hmmm a little cleavage. Maybe we should stone her to death?

A little LESS cleavage but an interesting cut out. It's called fashion.

Completely covered up here:

My my this IS outrageous! HOW DARE SHE!

This may be the most revealing thing she's worn.

So tell me, what is "more conservative"? A burka? Are you so scared and threatened by female sexuality that even a modest amount of cleavage makes you want to hide? Are women that frightening to you?

Because that MUST be the case. Seriously, Lwaxana dressed very modestly. She showed little or no skin. I don't know what you hallucinate in your mind when you see her but that's not what I see on my screen. Or perhaps you think women over 50 should not be allowed to wear brght, fun colors either? That after 50 they should be locked away and only allowed to wear black and grey? What a sad, narrow, frightened view you have.

All of L'waxana Troi's outfits, however seemly from
one view, or another, were always revealing in other
ways just as inappropriate. Like this immodest frock.

She looks like the Madam of a brothel, instead of an
ambassador. Perhaps this title is just honorary, or self-
appointed (although Picard believed she was a real one)?

As to what her outfit would've preferably been, who knows?
A white turtleneck, perhaps, with a black, baggy, button-
down shirt, with khaki pants and brown orthopedic shoes.

You're extremely gross. And sexist. And misogynistic.  I feel very sorry for you and any women in your life (if there are any.)

Are you that frightened of skin that a bare back scares you?

And why are you saying that an ALIEN Betazoid woman should adhere to what essentially is Earth 20th/21st Century clothing? Or adhere to Earth standards of anything?  You're either really narrow midned or quite talentless at trolling.

Hey genuis, how is any of that ALIEN? She's an ALIEN. Why are you picking out 21st century clothing and hairstyles.  You don't know how to Star Trek.

And makeup? You're an MUA now too?   By the way, that woman isn't wearing any less makeup than Lwaxana did.

You're so scared of sexuality it's not even funny.  Too bad you don't know how to celebrate and enjoy human bodies in all their beauty.

The fact that Majel Barrett already died years ago at a relatively old-age makes it seem a bit disturbing that she was made out to be some sort of "young hot chick" on TNG/DS9. Those shows are still fairly modern-looking especially in comparison to TOS.
