Star Trek

My husband and I plan to go to Las Vegas in August (hot!) for the Trek convention.  They don't have general admission or single day tickets yet- we were considering only going for the weekend and buying single day tix. 

Question is, do these general admission tickets suck?  Will we be tempted to buy individual admissions to events we don't get with those tickets anyway?  They do have "Preferred Weekend" tickets which guarantee us seats, etc, but they are $330.  Is it worth it?
