No list bad 2, and no list JJ movies.  Think Young Americans like JJ movies because they keyed to thier sociological markers, juz like the commercials JJ did did; but this not place to debate that, there death of trek as we know and love it for that; please juz talk of those 4 movies or ST III&V wif original cast if you want discuss Y left out

STAR TREK III, to me, was the most like
The Original Series. The story was lean,
the acting was fine, the photography was
gorgeous and the FX were excellent. Also,
SEARCH for SPOCK did the most, up until
that time, for the franchise, as a whole.
It introduced:

- the BIRD of PREY
- the EXCELSIOR Class
- the Grissom Class
- the Klingon Knife,
- the multiple Klingon head designs,
rather than the single one used in TMP
- for the first time in TREK history, a
cast member directs ... one who actually
cared about the cast, the fans and the product.

I have always been partial to The Voyage Home for its fun use of comedy while still being a good movie.

Are you sure it isn't time for a colorful metaphor?

I'm fond of a VI. It was a pretty good finish for the original cast.

Ethics are arbitrary.

My favorite movie is "The Voyage Home" but I have to say that all the movies aren't really that good. I prefer the series.

The Voyage Home is my favorite. It seemed like the chemistry between the cast was at its peak.

Although I'd pick Voyage Home if I had to, really it's hard to separate II, III, and IV. "The trilogy" as it's occasionally called, really works together well even if it wasn't planned to be one. I admit the movies aren't always perfect, but these three together really click and capture the magic of the original series and far outshine any other Trek movie for me, including Next Gen and Nutrek (which I'm not fond of).

Favorite is The Motion Picture (though I don't think much of the "title"), with Voyage Home a close second. I guess I find the more action-packed movies less exciting, somehow.

I know what you mean i love the Voyage Home for all the humour, but i also like the Wrath of Kahn because Spock dies and every tv franchise needs someone to die altough, Spock is my favorite Star Trek character of all time i was glad he came back to life.

My personal favorite was Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.  I liked to see an old friend from our Space Seed days do what he does best, cause trouble.  I loved the special effects and the cinematics that went into the nebula and Regular 1.
