Happy Easter, everyone!

I see Google is celebrating Cesar Chavez's birthday, and ignoring easter, again.

Sadly, I wasn't surprised.

Google has never had religious themes.  Why are we still talking about it? News flash, corporations are not required to reflect your ideology.  Funny how the people who think it's a great idea for the scouts to question children on their sexuality or for chick-fil-a to fire employees because they don't like who they sleep somehow think they get to tell companies that they have to reflect their own personal religion.

For me, it wasn't as much that they didn't do an Easter doodle, it was that they celebrated a Marxist instead.  While I wouldn't go so far as calling it an attack on Easter, it was very much a message by Google (which they are free to push.)  We're also free to dislike Google for supporting communism and you're free to dislike the Boy Scouts and Chick-Fil-A for... whatever reasons.  We have choices.

Do you have a reference to Chick-Fil-A firing employees over that claim? I haven't heard anything about that.

You're confusing Cesar Chavez with Hugo Chavez.

Google, being a multinational corporation, would never push a communist message. You're just trying to demonize them because you work for Microsoft which owns Bing.

He said Marxist, not dictator...

Google does have a leftist message, and I will say that they creep me out sometimes. They work with governments, and they have been caught multiple times bypassing browser's safety precautions and collecting personal data.

He works for Microsoft? I must say, I enjoyed the "Basic Bing" zing at google today.

Actually.. I did say dictator, but stipulated Union....  I changed it about 30 seconds after I posted it because I knew people would incorrectly think I was confusing an American Marxist with a Venezuelan Communist.

And no, I don't work for Microsoft.... but then again... DT accused me being a "greedy" and "selfish" business owner too a while back .  DT can't keep his/her delusions straight (which isn't surprising,) but I've stopped reading anything they write.

Thanks for letting us know about the Basic Bing - that was a good laugh!

You didn't change it until after I posted. Which was over two hours later.

And no, I don't work for Microsoft.... but then again... DT accused me being a "greedy" and "selfish" business owner too a while back .

Are you denying being greedy and selfish or denying being a business owner?

"You'd really hate working for me.... I pay based on a worker's contribution (not their "need") - if worker A creates twice as many widgets as worker B, worker A earns twice as much pay as the other."

"What I earn is none of your business.  We pay more for a meal at Ruth's Chris than one at McDonald's because of the value of the meal.  Or we pay more for a bigger/better HDTV than a smaller/worse TV.  Or for a Bugatti than a Yugo.  Same with each worker's contributions -  some workers' contributions are more valuable than others.  Anyone can sweep the floor, but not everyone has the ability to run a business or manage others or create a product.  When you go see a surgeon, who's skills are more valuable, the surgeons or the person scheduling the appointment?  If a worker doesn't like their compensation, they can vote with their feet and go to another company or start their own - that's liberty/capitalism."

"I pay according to their contributions - if I paid more than they contribute, I'd be out of business.... but you don't understand simple business principles.  The business owner takes the risk, but people like you don't want them to reap the rewards of any success they might achieve.  You just want rewards without having to actually work for them."

DT can't keep his/her delusions straight (which isn't surprising,) but I've stopped reading anything they write.

The fact you keep editing your posts to respond to me proves you are reading my posts.

"To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies – all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth."

I was amused by Google's icon, but really don't care all that much-but it seems an odd choice on Easter.

Google is more left leaning than some and they push their message, often not realizing their own doublespeak.

They can push whatever message they want. Just because they are a business, doesn't mean they can't be communist in their belief system.

And I'm trying to figure out your quote their, DT. Are you a business owner?

Also, Happy Easter everyone!
