Before Star Trek "Generations" was released, I saw a trailer for the movie. The trailer showed the Enterprise arriving at the Amargosa Observatory and firing weapons at a couple of Romulan Warbirds. This battle did not appear in the movie, but is referenced later when Sauren is telling Lursa and B'Tor that the "if the Enterprise had not interviened" the Romulans would have the "weapon". This is also supported by the fact that dead Romulans were on the station. If the Romulans had attacked the station and left, I do not believe that they would not have left evidence, let alone bodies. Does anyone else remember this?

No, there was no such scene filmed, and there was no such trailer released.

Star Trek Generations - Alternative Ending, in all of its sort of "glory," if you like:

This is the only filmed deviation from what you find in the completed movie. Personally, I actually PREFER the Alternative Version!

excuse me, but it seems to me thast your claiming that there are no other films scenes for this film that were not seen in the released version.
If that is what you are claiming then you are in error.
There was the alkternate begining.

and even in thge trailer, near the end, Kirk says to Harriman, "lets cheat death together", that never madeb it to the finished film, but as you can see the scene was filmed.

"Deleted Scenes" are NOT the same as "Alternates." A deleted scene was shot, as-is, but just taken out of the final movie. An alternative scene takes a scene that you saw in the final movie, reshoots it and changes everything in it. What you pointed out were DELETED SCENES. Not the same thing as what I was saying ...

Geordi was supposed to be tortured by having some nano thingies go into his heart. This was in the novel of the movie. I assume they either DID film that part and deleted it, or just didn't film it at all. Cause the bad guy (cant remember hs name, Sauron?) came and told the others. "He just didnt have the...heart for it..."

I do not know if nanites were meant to ever be part of Generations, but I know the movie had a very weak budget. So I doubt it. This flick had a LOT of reuse in it, from prior STAR TREK shows. Everything from props to actual sets. I know the novelization of STAR TREK III tried to change Kruge's lover's story all around, too. It seems authors just do that stuff to throw their 2 cents into it, making it "their own," I guess ...

But Randy, not ALL of the STAR TREK movies are awesome ... surely! What about THE FINAL FRONTIER, for instance? And GENERATIONS, itself, could be considered a weak entry.
It surprises me how defensive people get over this, at times. I have to remind myself that most fans are speaking from the heart, talking about this franchise. They love it, warts and all. But some of us try to be a little more objective than that and, invariably, it makes for some HEATED discussion and debate ...
