I wish I had the official statistics on how many on-air transporter deaths there have been in all Star Trek series combined.

Having your significant other stuff
volatile explosives into your necklace
without your knowledge ...

then being dragged out into the poisonous
atmosphere of an alien planet, without any
air, or protection, by your very best buddies ...

and, finally, having your significant other
detonate said explosive, just so they could
make a point to a total stranger. You know ...

The exact same thing happened to poor Marta!

To die a meaningless death.

Make it so.

Sucked into space would indeed suck. Sorry I missed so many.

Especially for a Klingon.

@2takesfrakes:

Yes. Whoever wrote that scene is not the sort of person you want to cross.

Yeah, I'd have to say either explosive decompression or transporter accident.

Or I guess getting eaten by this thing, though that might qualify as a redshirt death.

I'd say that the transporter fail would be pretty bad.

I would have to suggest a possibility that didn't make it into the poll: Varon T disruptor (The Most Toys TNG)

Die a Worthless, and Meaningless death. Like a say, getting killed by a big ball of Tar (We're looking at you Tasha).

@ SixOfSeven05:

Hmmm. Someone might live a good and fulfilling life and then die of old age, for nothing, or perhaps be hit by a bus. Or someone might die a meaningful death which, nonethelss, serves what ultimately turns out to be a horrible purpose.

I would prefer to live a good and meaningful life and to die quietly, to have the luxury of dieing a meaningless death.

But you're the second person to turn in that same answer. And I suspect you're both secretly Klingon.

Don't Klingons consider meaningless death dishonorable?

@eutychus:

I missed quite a few. I should have done this in a slightly different way.

Not enough choices really ? For me , borg assimilation would have to be the worse ! Although , an interphase accident is awful , such as sinking into the floor or stuck through a wall !

I don't think anyone has mentioned having some nerd come back in time and change the timeline so you never existed. That's worse than meaningless. But on things that seemed WTF on ST I'd agree with poor Tasha disappearing into a black blob.
