By definition, traveling faster than the speed of light is time-travel.  But, I don't think you travel so much faster than light and time that you would arrive before events would normally happen.

I think there'd be a lot more resistance to (or perhaps support of) the Alcubierre concept if it caused time travel.

This is only true in Special Relativity... See my explanation in the "When do you think warp drives will be possible?" poll thread.

Oh, just think of the political abuses of government... (and all the personal mistakes/regrets I could correct)... Now I'm conflicted. Do I want time travel or not?

Time travel is impossible.

No matter how fast you travel you will merely be occupying more space than you did before.

Even at the highest exponetial of FTL you would still only be traveling at x times the speed of light.

Humanity can travel the speed of light and faster but not at the speed of infinity at which the Universe was created.

If it was possible  to travel at the speed of infinity then we would actually be able to see the very processes that have created space, which if anyone has read my posts about what space is you would realize that the paricle association with what space is resides outside the realm of our ability to understand and use for our purposes.

Stay within FTL speed space and leave the travel at the speed of infinity for them.

Time travel is not impossible.  Einstein's Theory of Relativity has already led most scientists to believe that time travel, at least into the future, is possible, if not probable.

I'm not an expert, and I won't pretend to be one, but a simple google search will lead you to people who are, and most of those experts concur with Einstein's theory.

Are you talking about a semantics version of time travel or actual time travel where the future has already happened and we are just waiting to occupy said future?

If so that is wrong because such a reality does not exist.

We have to build the future by learning from the past to not repeat the same mistakes while encouraging new thoughts an ideas regardless of what conventions they may defy.

Einstein does have alot of credit but not total credit for the simple fact that Einstein died before DNA was discovered of which would be directly influenced by any type of time line shift where such a time line shift into the future would actually kill everysingle human being because the aging process would be increased exponentially to the point of humanity not being able to create new children before our cells died of old age.

Sure you can say that you have time traveled relative to the previous position that you occupied where the events had changed from point A to point B. But regardless of how many times you repeat the events between point A and point B, De Ja Vue, the rest of the Universe will not have experienced the semantical effect.

Time travel is not possible but is a great story plot device.
