TOP GUN is one of my most favorite motion pictures. In fact ...
my fondness for TOP GUN competes well against my love of TNG.
I just have to know one thing, though:

Does anyone else using these boards love TOP GUN ... as much as I?

If so, please ... don't be afraid to gush over this Motion Picture ...
just as I often do!

It was entertaining. Not one of my all time favorites.

Nice to see that we "CAN" talk about other films, since this forum "IS" to be used as a room for discussing all films, not just "Star Trek" films.

After all there is a sub heading "Your chance to be a virtual film critic"

I do notice a serious lack of other films being discussed here. What's with that?

Paramount set this up so we even as fans of Star Trek can discuss other films even by other studio's.

This gives them insight and feed back for all future productions.

But this thread is talking about TOP GUN - a movie whose epic saga ...
backdrop ... and romance eclipse - even surpass - GONE with the WIND,
in my opinon. This is the best movie in Tom Cruise's long and storied
cinimatic career. And Kelly McGillis was perfectly cast as "Charlie" ...

So beautiful, charming and "together." The supporting roles were also cast
brilliantly, including the likes of Val Kilmer, Tim Robbins and Michael
Ironside. TOP GUN wears its patriotism surprisingly well and seeing so
much real life military hardware in action is extremely impressive ...
And, yes ... the score's songs may seem dated at times, but they still work!

Paramount can still Take My Breath Away, with movies like STAR TREK (2009).

TOP GUN still holds up and I'm not a bit surprised. It has much to offer.
