>Well Picard and Spock are alike , both career officers , and intellectuals , which is why I think I hesitated when considering them . A career officer , by definition , is one who gives his life to the (starfleet) service .
>And that made me think of some of the Captains we missed , like Riker , Crusher , Data , Worf (brother-in-arms with Martok , Sisko and Picard) , La Forge , and also Chekov !

Well, that's probably why "other" got the highest vote

I chose Picard, he is the most stable of the listed Captains.
Kirk is too impulsive--he might get the crew home, but individual crew members are more likely to die.
Sisko has anger management issues and has that whole religion drama to deal with.
Janeway is a close second but she tends to lean towards the "ends justify the means" mentality.
Spock, despite my understanding of vulcan nature, is too uncaring.
Sulu cares more about his former Captain than his current crew (Fly her apart, then!).
Martok... I don't want to die!

I would go with Captain Spock because I like his logical Vulcan side. I wish I could be as logical as the Vulcans.

There are a few good choices here, but I went with "Other" for Riker. I definitely wouldn't want to be under the command of Sisko or any ridgehead.

Went with Janeway. I just love how confident and tough she seems. She's by the book and reeks of authority.
Second I would choose Spock.. not because he seems like a perfect captain.. But he's awesome.
Third Picard. He also has the authority and confidence Janeway has. Both him and Janeway would be easy to trust with almost anything.

I voted for Kirk. It's possible that my having grown up watching TOS makes him my original Captain. I also feel like he's the Captain most likely to tell the rules to go to hell if they're standing in the way of him doing the right thing.

I would want to serve under Janeway, because even though she was facing the daunting task of trying to get home and knowing that there was little change of getting back to Earth, and the suport of the Federation she still pressed endlessly one while holding on to her morals and her federations directives. She was alone in the vast unknown of the Delta Quadrent, yet still kept her crew in check, she held her ground and became the greatest captain to ever fly a federation ship. I would be honored to serve under her.
